The Friday meeting on 26/08/22 was a lively and interesting meeting with lots of topics on discussion.

We started by discussing Red Squirrels and the Rusty Redcoat books that were written by one of our members. The discussion stayed on nature and moved from hedgehogs (and what to feed them), then on to wild birds

We stayed with the flying theme, discussing RAF planes - particularly Chipmunks (which it seemed that everyone attending had some experience of), then on to Spitfires and Lancasters.

We finally got on to harmonicas - and some talk about the October Festival. Keep an eye on newsdesk as details will be coming soon.

We then talked about Adam Glassers album "Free at last" and particularly the opening track "Tourmalet" which is named after Col de Tourmalet, a stage of the Tour de France. You can hear it played here

There was some talk about 16 hole chromatics and especially one that is being customised with wooden covers.

The next subject was Tremolo harmonicas - specifically the Theme to Tales of Para Handy - a version of which can be found here. We were all amazed when one of our members was able to play it after just hearing it once
