This week's coffee morning had a larger than usual attendance and unusually only harmonica and music related things were discussed.

There was some chat about tomorrows open mic and who is attending.

We then moved on to finding the root note on a diatonic and some discussion on bending.

Of course, there was some discussion on Pete Hewitt standing down as chair and his new role as Patron and what he will be doing.

There was a discussion on the October festival and what the line-up will be - including Jim Hughes will be opening the Sunday.

Adam Glasser turned up and was speaking about his new course - details of which are here we also chatted about his gig this evening and his planned set list.

We then spoke about the sound quality on zoom which led to one of our regulars playing a beautiful rendition of "The shadow of your smile" .

We then had a fairly long discussion about jazz harmonica and can you play jazz without reading music. This led to talking about musical structure and the skills needed for playing jazz against playing blues.

We finished off with a chat about how you find the first note when playing a piece.

An interesting session and everyone is always made welcome so hope to see you on the 9th September for our next one.
