Hello again everyone, welcome to our July Newsletter!

I’m going to keep it brief this month, as the main information to follow is regarding our HarmonicaUK Festival 2023! 🎉🎶 May I guide you to our website, where you will find pieces of interest on Newsdesk and events such as all upcoming coffee mornings, the festival, and open mics. All links can be found on the main page including our “Members Only” section which has complete recordings of our previous Saturday sessions, plus material given by the artist. The recent Saturday session with Paul Gillings was amazing by the way, and very much worth a look! We hope to have the recording available soon.

I hope to see all of you at our Open Mic this Saturday at 5 pm UK time. All welcome including spectators. Any level of players are accommodated in a safe and happy environment. Any nervous or anxious players will also be looked after. Just get in touch with Newsdesk prior to the event.

Our festival this year will be amazing!! We now have Rob Paparozzi, Adam Glasser, Sarah Saputri, Cathal Johnson, and Aidan Sheehan with his duo partner Martin Blake. What a lineup! Just from listing the artists you can tell we are covering all styles of music, all types of Harmonica and all levels of playing from absolute beginners. You could join in with the ensemble, or what about entering the competition? Continue reading on below for lots more information and I hope to meet you there. Until the next time, take care and happy harping!

Hello everyone, I hope this finds you well and enjoying the summer weather. This month I have the pleasure of announcing that tickets for the HarmonicaUK Festival 2023 are now on sale!

We have a great lineup of featured artists this year, who will be leading workshops and playing in the concert:

  • Rob Paparozzi (Diatonic/Chromatic)
  • Adam Glasser (Chromatic)
  • Sarah Saputri (Diatonic)
  • Cathal Johnson (Diatonic/Tremolo/Chromatic)
  • Aidan Sheehan (Diatonic)

Furthermore we have a trio of excellent workshop leaders:

  • Chromatic workshops with Patrick "Paddy" Byrne
  • Harmonica maintenance with John Cook
  • Ensemble workshops with Hilvert Scheper

We have some great trade stands with us for the weekend:

  • Sutherland Trading (Hohner)
  • Easttop Harmonicas
  • Battleplan Harmonica
  • Husky Harmonica Microphones

We will have an auction with some excellent harmonica goodies donated by Silverfish Harmonicas and our trade stand exhibitors. Don't miss this, there's bound to be some great gear at fantastic prices.

If you fancy throwing your hat into the ring in the competition this year, make note that once again it will be video entries, and that they need to be in before the end of September; winners will be announced at the festival.

Please be aware that accommodation on-site is limited, and is available on a first-come-first-served basis - so make sure to book soon! There are a number of other hotels within just a few miles if you prefer to organise your own accommodation.

Any questions about the festival, or anything else HarmonicaUK, please get in touch.

Finally, thanks for the responses to our request for volunteers last month, we have filled a couple of roles that we will be announcing soon. However, we are still in need of help on the Communications Team - do you love harmonica and have some time to spare? Good with emails, organised? We'd love to hear from you! Please email us at [email protected]

Happy Harpin'!

Barry
